Terminator Salvation: Hey, remember last summer, when they brought out another Terminator movie, and no one saw it, and then we all forgot about it? Yeah, me too. If I had a terminator, I'd send him back to 1993 to make sure that after T2, greedy producers and studios left the franchise the fuck alone.
Mystery Science Theater 3000 Volume XVI: Another set of solid episodes of our funniest television show, hampered only by Shout Factory's continuing insistence on including, in each of their four-disc sets, an episode from the far-inferior first season. But the rest of this one is stellar--the goofy Night of the Blood Beast, the laughable post-apocolyptic Italian epic Warrior of the Lost World, and (just in time for the holidays) the woefully awful Mexian import Santa Claus. Good stuff.
Night at the Museum- Battle of the Smithsonian: Seldom have so many people I like (Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Ricky Gervais, Steve Coogan, Christopher Guest, Bill Hader, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria) appeared in a movie that I can say, with total certainty, that I will never, ever see.
Gimme Shelter (Criterion Collection) (Blu-ray): Once, I got to sit in when Gimme Shelter director Al Maysles was a guest in my wife's documentary class. I asked him a question about Gimme Shelter. That is all. (Oh, and good movie, BTW.)
