Today's New DVDs- 3/9/10

Up in the Air: Oh, look, it's the best movie of the year, the one that GOT ROBBED on Sunday, in several categories. Clooney, Fermiga, Kendrick. Bateman, Simmons, Galifianakis. Rent it, buy it, own it, love it. This concludes my hard sell.

Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' By Sapphire: Another of the year's best--tough, uncompromising storytelling, great performances, masterful direction. Lee Daniel may be four pounds of crazy in a two pound bag, but he made a fascinating, powerful film.

Capitalism: A Love Story: Michael Moore's latest is one of his best--a plainspoken and whip-smart analysis of our current financial malaise and the kind of thinking that's slowly led us to a point of no return. It may not win him any new fans (though his attacks don't all fall along party lines), but it's a fierce, angry rallying cry for the disenfranchised 95%.

Old Dogs: Hey guess what? STILL NOT GONNA SEE IT.
